Giving & Serving

Serving in Toronto

You can participate in God’s global mission right here in Toronto.

Love Your Neighbour as Yourself

Throughout the Greater Toronto Area, we have neighbours from all nations. Our multicultural city is a mission field in which we share the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

Who is My Neighbour?

As you ask yourself this question, you can show the love of Jesus simply by befriending and praying for those who live on your block or in your apartment building.

And you will likely discover ‘neighbours’ in all kinds of places as God opens your eyes to the needs of others.

For ideas and encouragement, you can join our Facebook community of ‘good neighbours’ who are seeking to be mission-minded in their daily lives and relationships.

Newcomers Network

Welcoming newcomers to Canada by connecting immigrants, refugees and international students to resources and relationships that help them settle in and feel at home. Click here to learn more about the ministry!

Just Share

Each month at Peoples, we announce a creative opportunity for giving and serving through the church and local ministry partners to bless our neighbours with everything from socks and diapers to sports equipment and school supplies. Please check back for more details! For more information contact us.

Ministry Partners

The Peoples Church serves in partnership with various ministry organizations active in the Greater Toronto Area to address these mission initiatives:

  • Advancing gospel frontiers by supporting evangelism, Bible studies, church planting and community development among people groups who have not yet had the opportunity to hear or experience the gospel.
  • Defending human dignity by providing compassion, rescue and rehabilitation through Christian ministries to those who have suffered due to slavery or trafficking.
  • Developing healthy communities by delivering food, medical care and education through Christian ministries to women and children in vulnerable situations due to poverty.

Refugee Ministry

Refugees have left their homes and countries to escape persecution and oppression. We want them to feel God’s loving presence as they seek a life of dignity and peace. Join the refugee ministry team and hear the stories of refugee claimants as they seek to find a new home and new hope in Canada. If interested, please contact us.

Refugee House – Program Leader

Every Third Friday of the Month • 6:30 PM • Matthew House

Do you have a passion for helping refugees feel at home in Canada? We are in need of a volunteer to help with leading activities at Matthew House every third Friday of each month. Activities would include interactive games, icebreakers, sharing
stories and enjoying meals together. This is a great opportunity to build relationships with refugees and fellow volunteers who are spreading the love of Christ through hospitality. Matthew House is located in Downtown Toronto, at 981 Dundas
Street West. If you are interested, please contact Camille.

Walk with a Newcomer

Newcomers face significant settlement challenges as they seek to establish a new life in Canada. The Walk with a Newcomer ministry assists newcomers by connecting them with a volunteer who can help with their settlement needs. Through this ministry, volunteers will have the opportunity to provide practical assistance and build meaningful friendships with newcomers. For more information, please contact us.

Employment Mentors

Many newcomers come from significant professional backgrounds and experiences. Yet due to their lack of experience and academic training in Canada, many are not
able to find meaningful employment opportunities in their professional field. If you are in a specific profession, we would like to connect you with a newcomer who is in the same field. In becoming a mentor, you will have the opportunity to provide practical employment support and build meaningful relationships with newcomers. If you are interested, please contact us.
