Journey With Us to the Philippines
In February 2027, a team from The Peoples Church will travel to the Philippines to come alongside our ministry partners, Al and Sonie Tadeo, and Support a Child Save a Future (SCSF).
SCSF shares the love and hope of Jesus Christ with vulnerable children and their families through feeding programs, education, tutoring, medical outreach, and other practical expressions of care. During this Visit & Learn journey, our team will listen and learn from local leaders, serve alongside their ministries, encourage communities, and deepen relationships with our partners throughout the Philippines.
Our team for this trip is now full, but our whole church can be part of the journey. We invite you to learn more about the work of our partners and pray for the team as they prepare, travel, serve, and return home to share what they have experienced.
What the Team Will Experience
Serving Alongside Local Ministries
The team will spend time with SCSF and local ministry leaders as they serve children and families in their communities. They will come alongside work already happening on the ground, learning from those who know their communities best and participating wherever they can be most helpful.
Connecting with Children and Families
Through SCSF’s feeding programs, education, tutoring, medical outreach, and ongoing care, the team will see firsthand how consistent, Christ-centred presence is bringing hope to children and their families.They will have opportunities to listen to stories, build relationships, and better understand both the challenges communities face and the ways God is at work in their midst.
Encouraging Local Churches and Communities
The team will also connect with churches and organizations serving their neighbours in practical ways, including those providing food to communities through packages supplied by Ontario Christian Gleaners.These visits are opportunities to encourage local leaders, hear what they are experiencing, and witness how churches are responding to the needs around them.
Learning From Our Partners
A Visit & Learn trip is about more than what our team can do. It is an opportunity to listen to and learn from faithful leaders who serve their communities every day.Time with Al and Sonie, SCSF, and other local leaders will help the team gain a deeper understanding of global mission and discover lessons they can bring home to our church community in Toronto.

- For our Visit & Learn team as they prepare and travel, that they would arrive with humility, curiosity, and hearts ready to listen and learn.
- For meaningful relationships to grow between our team and our partners, strengthening our partnership long after the trip ends.
- For what comes home, that God would use what the team sees and learns to encourage and challenge our entire church family.
