Regular Outings and Sports Events

We have many regular outings including activities such as: Strawberry and blackberry picking, apple picking, salmon watching, cranberry picking, fishing, visiting a maple syrup farm and more. We charge nominal amounts for participation in outings to cover (for example) transport and admission fees.

We also play or watch sporting events together on television including: Ball hockey, soccer, basketball and baseball—and often share a meal or snack together afterwards. These are usually free gatherings, but sometimes we will go to a live game—in which case we will pass along the ticket pricing we are able to secure.

Other regular activities include BBQs in the summer and fall, movie nights once a quarter and karaoke nights.

Our movie nights are not not just nights to watch movies: We explain the English words and expressions and even the plots to those who have difficulty following the story. Often we also look behind the scenes to explain the backgrounds of the stories and how the movies are made. Most of these events are free.
