Executive Summary
2024–25 AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
As we present the 2024–25 Audited Financial Statements, we do so with gratitude, humility, and confidence in God’s continued faithfulness.
This past year was one of discipline and prayerful discernment about difficult transitions — but through God’s faithfulness and the generosity of our church family, we have a healthy, sustainable foundation.
We are deeply thankful for the generosity of our church family. In a year marked by economic uncertainty and internal adjustment, your faithful giving enabled the church to stabilize its finances, honour its commitments, and finish the year in a position of strength.
This generosity is one of the clearest expressions of God’s provision among us.
During the year, leadership took intentional steps to align expenses with actual giving patterns across all ministries, including Global Mission. These measures resulted in reduced spending, the replenishment of reserves that had been gradually drawn down in previous years, and the restoration of financial margins that position the church for long-term sustainability. Importantly, all commitments to missionaries and mission partners were honoured in full.
The audited financial statements reflect these decisions using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). As a result, some line items — particularly within restricted funds such as Global Mission — may appear to show decreases that reflect accounting treatment and expense reductions rather than a decline in generosity. Overall contributions to the church increased modestly, and designated mission giving has remained broadly stable over time.
We are encouraged that The Peoples Church now enters the coming year with a balanced operating position and enhanced capacity to plan carefully for the future. Growth will be approached prayerfully, ensuring alignment with our mission and calling.
Above all, this report is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and to a community committed to faithful stewardship. We thank God for His provision and thank you for walking together as we prepare to go where He invites us next.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FINANCIAL UPDATE
As part of our commitment to transparency and good stewardship, The Peoples Church publishes audited financial statements annually. These statements are prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and reviewed by independent auditors.
It was a hard year that required discipline and significant adjustment. At the same time, it was a year marked by God’s faithfulness. Through careful course correction and the generosity of our church family, we are now on a stable, sustainable financial footing and prepared for the future.
Yes. The church has completed a necessary course correction, is operating on a balanced budget, and has restored appropriate financial margins. This positions us well for careful, mission-aligned growth in the years ahead.
GLOBAL MISSION
This figure reflects accounting treatment and reduced expenses, not a 17% drop in generosity. The primary driver is a reduction in Global Mission spending as part of a church-wide course correction, along with the way deferred (restricted) mission funds (money we receive in one financial year that we disperse to mission partners in the next financial year) are recorded in audited statements.
No. Actual giving to Global Mission has remained broadly stable, with only modest year-to-year variation. In fact, total contributions to the church increased slightly overall during the year.
Restricted funds are donations designated specifically for Global Mission. These funds cannot be used for other purposes. When mission expenses are lower than designated giving, funds are deferred (set aside) for future mission use. When commitments made to mission partners exceed current giving, deferred funds are drawn down, and future adjustments to expenses are made.
Over several previous years, the church had been gradually drawing down deferred mission funds. In 2024–25, leadership intentionally reduced expenses so that this trend could be stopped and reversed. As a result, deferred mission reserves were replenished — creating a large swing in the reported numbers.
No. All commitments to missionaries and mission partners were honoured in full. Support levels for missionaries remained intact. Adjustments were made primarily by shortening or postponing some project timelines, carefully reviewing new project commitments, and reducing internal expenses.
Audited financial statements must follow specific accounting rules. In the case of Global Mission, changes in deferred funds affect how revenue appears on the statements. Without this context, the numbers can be misleading — which is why we are providing this explanation.
STEWARDSHIP & THE FUTURE
Rather than spreading smaller reductions over many years, leadership prayerfully discerned a course of action to choose to act decisively in one year. This allowed the church to stabilize quickly, reduce uncertainty, and avoid more difficult decisions later.
The Peoples Church is now in a position to breathe, plan, and discern next steps carefully. Growth will be pursued prayerfully, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with our mission.
This is a story of faithful stewardship and God’s provision. The numbers reflect discipline, not decline — and they position us well to continue following God’s call together.
LIVING TRUTH & THE SHIFT TO DIGITAL
As part of a broader stewardship review, we recognized that both traditional television viewership and donor support for Living Truth had been steadily declining for several years. While this platform was deeply meaningful and impactful for decades, continuing them in their existing form was no longer financially sustainable or aligned with how most people now engage with ministry content.
Ending the television broadcast and printed devotional books was a difficult and prayerful decision, made to ensure that resources are stewarded wisely and directed where they can have the greatest impact today.

No. While declining donorship and rising costs were significant factors, the decision was also shaped by a desire to focus efforts where ministry engagement is growing and where we can reach more people effectively.
This shift reflects both faithful stewardship and missional clarity — ensuring that Living Truth remains accessible, relevant, and sustainable for the future.
Living Truth has transitioned fully to digital platforms, where engagement continues to grow. Inviting the Living Truth community to join The Peoples Church online. Ministry content is now focused on:
- Sunday livestreams
- YouTube channel
- Podcasts
- Daily email devotionals
- On-demand digital content
These platforms allow us to reach a wider audience at significantly lower cost, while adapting to how people now consume teaching, worship, and devotional resources.
This shift allows our ministry to remain strong and sustainable. While traditional television viewership had declined, digital engagement continues to expand — particularly among those who would not otherwise access the ministry through broadcast TV or printed materials.
This transition ensures that the heart of Living Truth — sharing the truth of Scripture and the hope of Jesus — continues in ways that are both effective and faithful for this season.
The transition of Living Truth is one example of the broader stewardship adjustments made this year across the entire church. Like other ministries, Living Truth responded to changing realities by aligning expenses with actual engagement and support, allowing the church to stabilize financially and invest responsibly in the future.
This was a year of necessary transitions — but also of renewed focus and hope. By releasing what was no longer sustainable, we have created space to invest in ministry that is growing, accessible, and aligned with where God is leading us next.
We remain deeply grateful for the legacy of Living Truth and for all who were impacted through television and print over the years. We believe this transition honours that legacy while preparing the ministry for the future.
