AUGUST 2026
We are praying for the people of Colombia and Venezuela following the recent earthquakes that have shaken communities across the region. In the midst of fear, loss, and uncertainty, we remember that God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.
This crisis is especially close to us through our relationship with Fundación Doulos and the Bravo family in Colombia. As they and others respond to the needs around them, we invite our church family to stand with the people of Colombia and Venezuela in earnest and expectant prayer.
We Pray:
- For first responders, government authorities, and neighbours responding in affected communities. May the Lord continually guide and strengthen them as they pour themselves out on behalf of those in need, becoming repairers of broken walls and restorers of streets where people can dwell.
- For families whose homes have collapsed or are no longer safe and who are searching for shelter. May they find safety and provision, and know the Lord as their Strong Tower and refuge.
- For those grieving the loss of loved ones, especially those who must also lead and comfort others. May they have space to grieve, knowing that the Lord sees and holds every tear, and may they grieve with the hope we have in Jesus Christ, who died and rose again.
- For children, vulnerable people, and all who have experienced trauma. May fear give way to peace. May they sleep and wake knowing the Lord sustains them, and may He bring comfort, healing, and emotional recovery in the time ahead.
- For the Church across Latin America as believers respond to those in need. May their work be produced by faith, their labour prompted by love, and their endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- For Fundación Doulos and the Bravo family as they respond yet again in the midst of crisis. May they not grow weary in doing good, but experience the empowering of the Holy Spirt, the miraculous multiplication of resources, renewed strength, and refreshment as they refresh others.
- For those of us watching and praying from afar. May we be faithful in continuous and powerful prayer, earnestly longing to see darkness overcome, hope restored, and the glory of God arise over Colombia and Venezuela.
Join us in continuing to pray for Colombia and Venezuela, trusting that God is present, God is at work, and God hears the cries of His people.
