We are praying for the people of Nepal following severe flooding along the Trishuli River, affecting communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha. Homes and vital infrastructure have been destroyed, leaving many families facing loss, displacement and uncertainty.
We are grateful that our national workers, their families and the churches in their care are safe. Our partners have already mobilized to respond, and we invite our church family to stand with them and the people of Nepal in earnest and expectant prayer.
We Pray:
- For those affected by the flooding, especially families who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods. May they experience the Lord as their refuge and strength in the midst of overwhelming loss.
- For the safety of communities along the Trishuli River as the threat of further flooding remains. May the Lord protect those at risk and give wisdom to authorities as they monitor conditions and help people reach safety.
- For rescue and relief efforts in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha. May first responders and local leaders have the strength, resources and access they need to reach those who have been isolated by damaged roads and bridges.
- For families who have been separated by the flooding and damaged infrastructure. Bring comfort to those unable to reach loved ones and make a way for families and communities to reconnect.
- For our partners and local churches as they respond to the needs around them. Give them wisdom to know where help is needed most, multiply the resources available to them and strengthen them as they care for their neighbours.
- For the national workers, their families and churches. We thank God for His protection over them and pray that He would continue to keep them safe and use their faithful presence to bring hope and practical care to their communities.
- For the Church in Nepal to be a steady presence of Christ’s compassion in the days ahead. May believers serve with courage, generosity and endurance, pointing people toward the hope we have in Jesus.
