CRA Donation Extension Update
Did you know that the Canada Revenue Agency has confirmed an extended deadline for making 2024 donations? To mitigate the impact of the recent mail strike in Canada, the CRA recently confirmed that individuals may claim eligible donations made to charities up to February 28, 2025 on their 2024 personal income tax return. Given this extension, we plan to mail you a separate donation tax receipt for all eligible donations received from you in January and February 2025, provided the total is $10 or more. These separate extension period receipts will be mailed out in early April 2025. Note: further…
A Journey of Faith, Service, and Compassion
A Journey of Faith, Service, and Compassion Mario and Marion De Piero, lovingly referred to as M&M by their friends, have been integral members of The Peoples Church (TPC) for over 40 years. Now retired, they’ve found renewed purpose and fulfilment in serving through the Refugee Ministry—a path they believe was divinely guided and deeply meaningful. Their dedication and empathy have profoundly impacted both the refugees they serve and the church community. How did you find your way into the Refugee Ministry? When we first retired, we weren’t sure what our next chapter would look like. After being in the…
January 2025 Update
Thank you for praying! We’re grateful for your ongoing prayers and support during this season. Peoples Ministries Inc. is addressing an operating deficit, and with prayerful discernment, we’ve been implementing a plan to ensure a strong, sustainable future. Since August 2024, we’ve been gradually applying this plan. The plan includes reducing expenses, adjusting staff responsibilities, and making some tough decisions. This week we are making changes to some ministry programs, realigning staff roles, and eliminating a few vacant positions—all with a focus on long-term financial health while keeping God’s vision and mission for our church at the centre. You may not…

December 17, 2024
Fiscal Year 2023-24 As part of our commitment to transparency, we are sharing the Audited Financial Statements for The Peoples Church, fiscal year 2023-24 (ending August 31). You can view them on our Give webpage or directly by clicking here. Operating Deficit Our Board of Directors and leadership team are dedicated to continuing to align our vision with good stewardship as we work through an operating deficit. At the end of fiscal year 2023-24 that deficit was $1.2 million, after removing Legacies (estate gifts) which are not part of our operating budget. We are grateful that God has led us to a…
Year-End Update
August 28, 2024
Emerging from a global pandemic, The Peoples Church leadership has been prayerfully watching the return of our people and carefully monitoring our resources. We expect to finish the current fiscal year (ending August 31, 2024) in a deficit position. The Board of Directors (Board) has prioritized prayerfully discerning how best to address the financial deficit (exact numbers will be available after our year-end audit). We are grateful for all God has provided and continue to be committed to God’s mission and vision for our church: Growing the body of Christ for God’s global mission, which we believe fosters a movement of gospel-centred and globally…
ISRAEL-GAZA
OCTOBER 2023
We are deeply grieved by the devastating escalation in the conflict in Israel and Gaza and how it is impacting the most vulnerable. Right now, the situation is extremely volatile and the ability to send humanitarian aid is very limited. We are vigilantly monitoring the situation and working with our partners at the Foodgrains Bank and Tearfund Family to determine if and how we can respond. While we wait for more clarity on the situation we must fall to our knees in prayer. We know that nothing is too big or too impossible for our God to change; His righteous…
MOROCCO & LIBYA
SEPTEMBER 2023
Morocco and Libya have been struck by devastating natural disasters. The unprecedented floods in Libya follow a powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Morocco. Please join us in prayer for the people of Morocco and Libya. WE PRAY FOR LIBYA We lift up our brothers and sisters in Libya as massive flooding in the city of Derna has killed over 6,000 with over 20,000 still missing. Over 30,000 have been displaced from their homes. The believers in Libya are strong, but not able to gather regularly, so responding communally at times like this is challenging. We stand with the believers who are…
