ESL Team

Nurture newcomer’s English and Canadian cultural understanding in a safe and welcoming environment by assisting ESL students with check-in, helping prep ESL classwork, or teaching ESL classes.

• A personal and growing relationship with Christ
• Welcoming, hospitable, and friendly demeanor towards newcomers to Canada
• Willingness to walk alongside newcomers with patience and care
• Command of the English language
• The ability to teach students of different ages and backgrounds
• Display patience and cultural awareness
• The ability to support others in crisis with a non-judgmental, empathetic response
• Experience working in culturally diverse setting a plus
• The ability to work independently and within a team environment

• 3-5 hours per class each week (this includes preparation and teaching time)
• At least 1 school-term (3-4 months)
