Description

Provide practical settlement support to newcomers by addressing their settlement related questions, connecting them to appropriate services, community partners, and housing and health support. One could also lead workshops around settlement issues.

Skills, Attribute, Knowledge

  • A personal and growing relationship with Christ
  • Demonstrate a welcoming and hospitable demeanor towards Newcomers to Canada
  • Display patience and cultural awareness
  • A base knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about resources to support newcomer settlement, keep current on housing and employment trends and relevant legislation
  • A strong command of the English language

Days and Times

  • 3-5 hours per month (flexible)
  • 1 year commitment
