ACCESSIBILITY
ACCESSIBILITY AT THE PEOPLES CHURCH
At The Peoples Church, we are committed to creating a welcoming and accessible environment where everyone can participate fully in the life of our church.
We believe every person is made in the image of God and should be treated with dignity, respect, and care. We are continually working to identify and remove barriers so that our spaces, programs, services, and communication are accessible to all.
If there is a way we can better support your participation or accessibility needs, we would love to hear from you.
The Peoples Church strives to be accessible for all. We have ample room on the main floor of our auditorium for wheelchair and walker seating. We also have quieter spaces set aside for those with sensory, hearing, or light sensitivities. Our hosts, located at the auditorium entrance doors, are happy to assist you in finding a space.
All of our meeting rooms are accessible either through a lift or elevator and are located near one of our 8 accessible washrooms throughout the building. For guidance on where our rooms are situated, we have large print wayfinding maps and signage with braille throughout our building to assist those with visual impairments.
We strive to make sure our Children and Family programs are accessible to families with all different needs. If your child has special needs or requires any extra assistance please talk to one of our volunteers at check-in to make sure we can help in any way possible.
There is an elevator in the West Wing to help families access our children’s ministry classrooms. There are 2 fully accessible washrooms on each floor in the West Wing.
We recognise that worship environments can affect individuals differently. Quieter spaces are available during services for those who may benefit from reduced noise or visual stimulation.
If there are ways we can help make your experience more accessible or comfortable, please contact our team in advance or speak with one of our hosts when you arrive.
At The Peoples Church, we take web accessibility seriously and are striving to uphold all of the guidelines outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.
