Statement of Faith

I believe that the Bible is God’s Word to us.

I believe in one God – existing in three persons, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died for our sins so that we may have salvation by faith.
This salvation is not received from any effort (‘works’) of any kind. Anyone who accepts the Lord Jesus Christ by faith is born again by the Holy Spirit and becomes a child of God.

I believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven, and He is coming back someday (Acts 1:9-11). I believe that Jesus left us The Great Commission to go, teach and baptize and it is my responsibility to live my life in this way (Matthew 29:19).

I believe that the Holy Spirit helps us to live holy lives, producing the ‘fruit of the Spirit’ and giving us Spiritual Gifts to help us to serve God better.

I believe that I should live a pure and holy life in obedience and loving response to God and according to Biblical principles. This includes, but not exclusively:

1) Adhering to the Two Great Commandments to, “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength,” and to, “love others as yourself” (Matthew 22: 37-40).

2) Walking in the Spirit as defined by Galatians 5:16-26.

3) Abstaining from: greed, lying, anger which leads to sin, violence, stealing, slothfulness, lewdness, homosexual activity, adultery, sexual activity outside of marriage, pornography, criminal activity, abuse or harassment of others, and misuse and abuse of alcohol and drugs.
