As part of the Newcomers Ministry team, you are part of a diverse & welcoming community that seeks to provide compassion, connection, and community for newcomers to Canada. As a Discipleship Team Member, you will be directly involved with walking alongside newcomers to be welcomed and find a place of belonging, often making the initial contact with our newcomers, and providing a welcoming warm smile or hospitable friendly greeting to our clients who may feel uneasy as newcomers to Canada. This is an important aspect of making them feel welcomed and find a sense of belonging.
Since newcomers have diverse and varied journeys, this volunteer role will face a myriad of challenges in supporting them, so we are looking for volunteers to walk alongside newcomers with patience and care as they get acclimated to their new home country. Flexibility and a willingness to learn will be pivotal to your success. This is a great opportunity for you to share your talents and experience, learn new skills, and meet new people.
