Global

Global Mission Prayer Team Member

We are seeking prayer team members who can commit to praying regularly for our mission partners around the world

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive weekly prayer requests and updates from our mission partners by email
  • Commit to praying for these prayer requests
  • Write prayers and encouragement for our mission partners when you feel led

Skills, Attitudes, Knowledge

  • Strong and growing relationship with Christ
  • Strong understanding of the importance and power of intercessory prayer
  • Time to commit to prayer weekly
  • Commitment to confidentiality

Relationship, Liaison

  • Missionary Care Pastor and Missionary Correspondent will provide you with updates and will receive and forward any prayer letters you compose for our mission partners

Time Commitment

  • At least one hour a week upon receiving the prayer requests for that particular week
  • Additional time would be needed if the volunteer is composing prayer letters to send to partners

Training

  • Plan to Protect Training
  • There will be a brief training to go over the principles of intercessory prayer and to share the background of some of the partners that will be prayed for

Screening Requirements

  • Multiple interviews, and must sign off on & adhere to a confidentiality agreement and correspondence protocol, the Statement of Faith, and the Lifestyle Covenant of The Peoples Church
  • Must have attended The Peoples Church for at a minimum of 6 months

The Peoples House

Handyperson

To assist in repairs and carpentry at The Peoples House (TPH)

Job Responsibilities

  • Minor repairs in house such as replacing light fixtures, doorknobs, cupboards and drawers, blinds, etc.
  • Consult on larger repairs needed

Skills, Attitudes, Knowledge

  • General handyperson skills such as: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrician, etc.
  • Able to teach skills to residents

Relationship, Liaison

  • Works with House Manager and residents

Time Commitment

  • As needed

  • Use practical skills to engage in refugee ministry
  • Build relationships with residents
  • Help keep the property at TPH safe and functional

Success Measures

  • The house is in good repair

Training

  • Plan to Protect Training

Screening Requirements

  • Vulnerable sector screening, multiple interviews, reference checks, and must sign off on & adhere to a confidentiality agreement and correspondence protocol, the Statement of Faith, and the Lifestyle Covenant of The Peoples Church
  • Must have attended The Peoples Church for at a minimum of 6 months
Translator

To assist residents of The Peoples House who do not speak English to move forward positively and comfortably where language is a barrier

Job Responsibilities

  • Translating during house intake
  • Translating during monthly 1:1 meetings
  • Meeting with caseworker
  • Completing paper work
  • Praying for the residents and the ministry

Skills, Attitudes, Knowledge

  • Fluent in English as well as on or more of the following: Arabic, French, Spanish, Farsi, Urdu, Hindi
  • Knowledge of the refugee claim / hearing process is an asset

Relationship, Liaison

  • Work with House Manager, residents of The Peoples House

Time Commitment

  • As needed- Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
